Animal Encounters

First Grade Animal Encounters
Posted on 02/26/2019
On Monday, February 25, first grade students were visited by the Akron Zoo.  Zoo staff brought animals to classrooms for the Essential Experiences, sponsored by the GAR Foundation.  First grade students experienced an up-close, hands-on experience with animals to increase both understanding of and interest in science concepts, specifically in this visit as it relates to living and non-living things. Students met Shelly the box turtle and Chloe the kinkajou.
